Monoposto Cars Through 1997
What We Race:
Cars will run on treaded tires and without aerodynamic devices following Monoposto Racing Rules. This group is sometimes split into two separate race groups, one for Formula Vee and Formula Junior and the second for Formula Ford, Formula B, Formula I & II and Club Fords (on treaded tires).
- Class B – Formula B, Formula II and pre-1966 Formula I
- Class VF – Pre-1973 Formula Ford steel rims and treaded tires
- Class J – 1962 & 1963 Formula Junior, Formula III and Formula C
- Class JE – Pre-1962 Formula Junior (equipped with drum brakes on all wheels and a gear case from a pre-1962 production car)
- Class JF – Formula Junior Front Engine and 500 cc Formula III
- Class V – Formula Vee through 1969
- Class VM – Modern Formula Vee thru 1997
- Class CF – Club Ford through 1981 (w/treaded tires and alloy rims)
- Class FF – Formula Ford through 1997 (w/ treaded tires and alloy rims)

NOTE: THESE CLASSIFICATIONS ARE BASED ON FULL REPRESENTATION OF ALL VSCDA ELIGIBLE CARS AND SUFFICIENT ENTRY TO CONSTITUTE A SEPARATE RACE GROUP FOR EACH. AS FIELDS WILL VARY FROM EVENT TO EVENT, SO MAY RACE GROUPS AND CLASSIFICATIONS.
VSCDA reserves the right to reject or reclassify specific vehicles and to combine groups for any given event. Group 5 cars are sometimes combined with Group 3 Sports Racing Cars. Group 7 cars are sometimes combined with the faster Group 4 cars. Slick racing tires allowed in Groups 5, 7 & 9 ONLY. Event Chairs will move individual cars to other groups if their speed is substantially faster than other cars in their assigned group.
